ABOUT ME
I finished my master’s degree in civil engineering at the age of 23 and started working right away in an office. All my life I thought that this is the road to happiness: Finishing all my degrees early and study hard and then finally earning money and then I’ll be happy. I quickly noticed that these outside accomplishments and circumstances did not make me feel fulfilled and joyful. I asked myself: Is this how life should be? What’s wrong with me that I am not happy?
And now Yoga … I was introduced to the world of spirituality and Yoga by my partner. He constantly challenged me to look deeper into the teachings and practices that so many masters offer. It took me some time to really listen to them – I was very skeptical. Then we came across Sadhguru and the “Inner Engineering” program. The way he was speaking about life with so much clarity, ease and profoundness was remarkable for me. I was blown away by how much precision and care the program was conducted. From then on I did my practices every day effortlessly. I decided to also attend the Surya Kriya and Angamardana program.
I quickly noticed how much change happed within me because of the practices. Suddenly I felt more calm and balanced, I gained more clarity, I felt more openness and acceptance in my life. I was less stressed, worried and frustrated, more loving, happy and joyful. My body felt at ease, more flexible, stronger and energetic than ever before. I understood that life is not about what goes on outside, but how I am within myself.
I then decided that it was time to not only deepen these transformational experiences but also share these wonderful tools with the people around me. I quit my job and went to India to attend the intensive Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2018. This was a real turning point for me. I overcame a lot of my limitations both in my body and my mind. I learned and unlearned so much. It was overwhelmingly beautiful. No words can describe the state of bliss at Isha Yoga Center.
Being back in Germany, I continue to be a yogi in the making, teaching in my hometown Weimar as well as for Isha Foundation all over the country. I am grateful to have the opportunity to share these powerful practices with as many people as possible.
Why Yoga Sandhya? Sandhya is the Sanskrit word for connection. Sandhya also means dusk or dawn. When the day connects with the night, then it is Sandhya. Hatha yoga is a science of bringing a connection and balance within yourself – a balance between the sun -ha- and the moon -tha- which are within. I hope that with the Isha Hatha Yoga practices, you will feel connected again and live a balanced life.
